Goodwood Brewing To Serve Southern Pub Fare Alongside Brews With Opening Of Fire Fresh Southern Kitchen

Matt Saltzman, known for his downtown Louisville and Shelbyville Fire Fresh BBQ locations, is partnering with Goodwood Brewing on a new concept that will feature a menu of traditional Southern Pub Fare. The restaurant— located inside Goodwood Brewing’s Nulu taproom— will feature everything from paninis, salads, Ribs, BBQ, tacos, pub appetizers, as well as traditional comfort food sides— like green beans, mac and cheese, and sweet country slaw.  Fire Fresh Southern Kitchen will begin serving food on Wednesday October 10th. “It’s a fast-casual restaurant in its concept, but offers traditional Southern pub experience. It’s laid-back and informal, and offers a more affordable dining experience in Nulu,” said Saltzman.     “Nulu is a booming neighborhood. It just made sense for us to add a food concept, and southern comfort food just fit the bill to pair with our wood-touched and Bourbon Country-inspired brews. We are so excited for the Fire Fresh Kitchen to provide a quality product that pairs perfectly with our beer portfolio. We’re always looking to improve the overall Goodwood taproom experience, and this partnership will do just that,” said Goodwood CEO, Ted Mitzlaff.   The Fire Fresh Southern Kitchen will operate in conjunction with Goodwood Brewing’s current open hours, but both parties are looking to expand to offer weekday lunch hours. You can view the menu here. New items will be added as the they grow and expand.   Goodwood Brewing is also working on a taproom expansion that will double the size of the current taproom. The taproom expansion will include Main Street facing overhead doors, more outdoor space, as well as a larger concert space and extended hours.
